Meta just released Ads Creative Studio. It's a self-improving loop: it reads your ad performance, tells you why creatives are winning or losing, generates new ones from your brand, and keeps optimizing as data comes in. Nothing publishes without you. Here's each part of the loop and where to find it.

Try Ads Creative Studio

Overview and the Try it now button are on Meta's Ads Creative Studio page. If your account is eligible, it opens straight into the tool.

How the loop works

Four parts. Every round builds on the last.

Insights

This is the part that reads your account. Ads Creative Studio groups every image and video you're running by style: the visual, the text, the story it tells. Then it looks at how each style is doing and flags the ad sets that are dragging.

By default it shows your bottom 25% of active ad sets, which you can change. For each one it tells you why it's underperforming: whether the creative is landing with your core demographics, how it stacks up against the top advertisers in your industry, and for video, where people are dropping off (hook rate, hold rate, ThruPlays).

There's also a breakdown view if you'd rather see it as a table or a heatmap: every style across cost per result, click-through rate, frequency, and so on, split by age and gender.

Suggestions

For every creative it flagged, it gives you a few concrete ideas to fix it: a UGC testimonial, opening on the product in motion, layering in beat-matched music, that level of specific.

The ideas come from three places: what's worked in your own account before, current seasonal and paid trends, and what's working right now for the top businesses in your industry. You pick which of your existing ads it uses as the starting point.

Generate

Pick an idea and it makes the ad. Images and video, generated with Meta's AI using brand memory, which learns your brand's look and tone from the ads you've already run so the output doesn't come back looking like someone else's company.

You can edit what it gives you: touch up a region, add text, or just type what you want changed. From there it goes wherever you want it: saved in the studio, downloaded, sent to your Ads Manager media library, or sent to a teammate for approval.

It lands in your library and you still build the ad. Anything Meta's AI made or materially edited gets an "AI info" label on the ad, and it tells you that before you publish.

Optimize

Scale top creatives is the other half of the loop: a leaderboard of your best active ads over the last 30 days, ranked by purchase ROAS by default (you can change the metric, the minimum spend, and the date range, and group by product, funnel stage, or audience).

Next to each winner is a button to generate variations. It keeps the format and structure that worked and changes the rest: new hooks, subtitles, narration, different placements, or swap the product and seasonal details to carry the same winning ad into another campaign.

As new performance data comes in, it keeps recommending what to refresh, scale, or replace.

How to get in

It's rolling out now, so you may not see it yet. Three ways to check:

  1. 1

    All tools

In Ads Manager, click All tools on the left, then Ads Creative Studio.

  2. 2

    From a performance indicator

In the Campaign, Ad sets, or Ads table, find a row with a creative fatigue or low performance flag in the Actions column. Click it, then See all ideas. This opens Ads Creative Studio scoped to that creative.

  3. 3

    Direct link

facebook.com/adscreativestudio. To use a different ad account, switch it in the Ads Manager business asset dropdown first.

Before you use it

  • Single image and single video only. Carousel, collection, and catalog ads aren't supported at launch.
  • An empty Improve creatives tab isn't a bug. Nothing shows until an active ad set clears the learning phase and dips under your performance limit. Raise the limit if you want to see more.
  • Regulated verticals may not get the generative features. Financial services, pharma and health, housing, employment, credit, and social or political ads, plus some countries, are rolling out later.
  • Style grouping is automatic. If it lumps unrelated ads into one style, the insights for that style are muddy. Fix the assignments in Saved creatives.

FAQ

  • How is this different from the AI tools already in Ads Manager?

Ads Creative Studio is a separate, end-to-end surface for creative strategy that connects performance analysis to creative action. The Advantage+ creative enhancements (animation, overlays, music, translations) still live in ad setup.

  • What ad formats does it support?

Single image and single video only at launch.

  • Does it publish ads?

No. Generated creatives go to Saved creatives or your Ads Manager media library. You still create or update an ad to use them.

  • Why is my Improve creatives tab empty?

Only active ad sets that finished the learning phase and fall under your minimum performance threshold appear. The default shows your lowest performing 25% of ad sets, and you can change it.
